MEET INK-BIT

MEET INK-BIT

Ink-bit is a character I have been drawn / developing for a while now, above are some early concepts and images I drew. some on a wall as a young teenager. As you can see the design of Ink-bit has progressed since my first ideas of him, evolving up too my most recent logo featuring Ink-bit.

Essentially, simply put Ink-bit is a bit of ink/dark matter from outer space. He is what I refer to as a 'space-time oddity'. He is similar to deity or demigod. He has some incredible abilities including bending space and time and manipulating the molecular structure of himself and the world around him - what he creates comes to life. However Ink-bit is far more concerned with polluting himself and prefers creating chaos and mischief with his abilities as oppose to doing any good, He is a vandal at heart, a rogue, often arrogant with a disdain for authority.

ANYWAY... There is  A LOT more to tell, I have been developing this character a lot further and am beginning to write a graphic tale of Ink-bit and his adventures.

MIDNIGHT OIL

MIDNIGHT OIL

Here are some logos that were designed for a good friend of mines future website and music blog.

The logo to the right was inspired by the idea of a gas tilly lamp 'burning the midnight oil'
but in this case the only black liquid that will burn when it comes to MIDNIGHT OIL is vinyl and plenty of it. The needle arm has been adjusted so that you may carry the light of sound with you.

The other logo inspired by the classical image of the ' half moon sleeping'

UPCOMING DSYFA DESIGN - 1/3: OZOMATLI.

So...things have been quiet on the art and blog front having spent the past year or so travelling down under in Australia. In-between my many Aussie adventures, lack of internet and hangovers I have had the pleasure of working alongside street wear label DSYFA again and creating this new peice.

We are currently producing a series of 3 brand new designs which is part of the ASCENSION PROJECT range - this is the first of 3 that will be released sometime in the upcoming year.

Aptly named OZOMATLI -

An Aztec monkey god and companion spirit who serves XOCHIPILLI -  the god of music and dance. With previous imagery from earlier DSYFA designs including the snake and owl - this new design bring in themes of ancient cultures, sounds systems and nature to encompass a design that reflects the labels and range's distinct style and ethos.

Keep your eyes peeled for this design released as prints and t-shirts later this year @

HOME INVASION PANELS

Some test panels I drew up for a comic book idea written by Richard Gosling called:

'HOME INVASION'.

In this particular scene these alien like claws burst out of a unconscious/dead prostitutes mouth when this alcoholic drunk tries to give her mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Right up my street, of course, its a project that I hope will one day progress further.

AJP logos

Recently redesigned my friends logo for his underground bass music channel - AJP.
Did the original tag in the top left corner a  fair few years ago.
Was good to give it an update for 2014.

Check out it here : AJP

It's definitely worth a click and listen.
